Understanding Bathroom IP Ratings

UK regulations divide bathrooms into zones. Zone 0 (inside the bath or shower) requires IP67 minimum. Zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower up to 2.25m) requires IP44 minimum. Zone 2 (within 60cm of Zone 1) also requires IP44. Always have bathroom lighting installed by a qualified electrician.

Mirror & Vanity Lighting

Side-mounted wall lights at face height (150–160cm from the floor) provide the most flattering, shadow-free illumination for bathroom mirrors. Warm white (2700–3000K) is most flattering for skin tones.
